Dr. Kurt Heite

Kurt Heite, DVM and FEI certified veterinarian is from Tomball, Texas. Dr. Heite is a graduate of Colorado State University; his private practice revolves around sports medicine and lameness in the performance horse.

Turf Paradise, a Thoroughbred racetrack in Phoenix, Arizona is where Dr. Heite worked upon completion of his degree at Colorado State University. His current practice is in Tomball, Texas and consists of a variety of discipline, comprised mainly of Hunter Jumper and Dressage horses.

Heite has also worked at such prestigious shows as the All American Quarter Horse Congress, the AQHA World Show, the NRHA Derby and Futurity, and the NCHA Cutting Futurity, to name a few.

Dr. Kurt Heite has also been involved in writing numerous articles for such magazines as The Practical Horseman, Horse and Rider and The Horse on a variety of equine health related topics. Recently he collaborated on Be a Smart Horse Buyer, a book written by Bob Avila, where Heite addressed pre purchase exams. Dr. Heite brings 13 years of equine experience to Equine Sports Medicine.
