Dr. Josh Donnell

Josh Donnell, DVM, joined the Equine Sports Medicine Team in the summer of 2002. At the time he was attending undergraduate school at West Texas A&M. Josh's early experiences with this team of veterinarians impacted his path in life tremendously. After his first summer on the trucks, he began working towards becoming a veterinarian and in 2006 was accepted into Vet School at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. Upon graduation in May 2010 Josh received an internship at Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital in Australia. He will be working as a vet on the ESM trucks until August 1st, 2010 when he leaves for this amazing opportunity. He attributes the experience and knowledge gained while working alongside the ESM veterinarians for this enormous opportunity to intern at such a prestigious facility. Josh stated, “I have been lucky enough to be a part of the team and learn from the cumulative knowledge and strengths that each of the ESM veterinarians bring to the table.” Josh will remain at the Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital until Sept. 2011, at which time he will return to work with the crew at ESM and La Mesa.

The hospital is a center for both routine and specialist care. It is also a referral center for many veterinarians with difficult or unusual problems. The hospital, which is situated just north of Shepparton on the Goulburn Valley Highway, is in a unique position in central Victoria and routinely attracts cases from all around Victoria and southern NSW. However horse people are very discerning and the hospital has had horses travel from Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and Western Australia and even from New Zealand. Josh is looking forward to learning and advancing his career at a world renowned equine hospital.
